Sun Certified Systems Administrator
This certification is for system administrators tasked with performing
essential system administration procedures on the Solaris Operating System
(Solaris OS) and technical application support staff responsible for administering
a networked server running on the Solaris OS.
Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 9 Operating System, Part I
The Sun Certified System Administrator I for Solaris 9 Operating System, Part I exam
is geared towards those candidates with a minimum of six months experience working as
a system administrator. This exam presumes the test candidate has an in depth knowledge
of basic UNIX and Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) commands, such as those commands covered in the SA-239
courseware. The examination will include multiple choice scenario-based questions, drag and drop and fill-in
questions. It is a prerequisite to the Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 9 Operating System,
Part II exam. Test candidates must pass this exam before proceeding to the Sun Certified System Administrator
for Solaris 9 Operating System, Part II exam.

Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 9 Operating System, Part II
The Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 9 Operating System, Part II exam is geared toward those candidates
with one or more years of experience working as a system administrator. This exam will test the candidate on the new
features of the Solaris 9 Operating System (Solaris 9 OS) and on the more advanced system administration skills. The
examination will include multiple choice scenario-based questions and fill-in questions. The Sun Certified System
Administrator for Solaris 9 Exam, Part I (310-014) is a prerequisite to this examination.

Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 9 Operating System Upgrade Exam
The Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 9 Operating System Upgrade Exam is geared toward those candidates with
one or more years of experience in a Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS). The examination will include multiple choice
scenario-based questions, drag and drop and fill-in questions. It will test only on the new Solaris 9 OS system administration
features. This exam is for candidates who have already successfully completed the Sun Certified System Administrator Exam,
both Part I and Part II of a previous version of the Solaris OS (2.5, 2.6, 7, 8). Reseller exams are not applicable.
Candidates who are not previously certified cannot take the upgrade exam. In addition, the test candidate's Solaris OS Certification
must have been in the complete Solaris Certification track (that is, the student must have taken and passed the Solaris 7 OS System
Administration I and the Solaris 7 OS System Administration II exam). Those test candidates with a "mix and match" certification do
not qualify.

Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform Upgrade
The Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform Upgrade Exam certification exam is for candidates who have already
successfully completed the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform examinations.
